Enerji Tüketimi, Ekonomik Büyüme, Enflasyon ve Ticari Açıklık Arasındaki İlişki: Kırılgan Beşli Ekonomileri İçin Bir Analiz

Abstract


Enerji tüm dünyada ekonomik büyümenin en önemli dinamiklerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkeler ekonomik büyümeyi sağlayabilmek için daha fazla enerjiye ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. Çalışmada makroekonomik göstergeler açısından benzer özellikler gösterdikleri ifade edilen kırılgan beşli ülkeleri için enerji tüketimi, ekonomik büyüme, enflasyon ve ticari açıklık arasındaki ilişki yapısal VAR modeli ile analiz edilmektedir. Analiz 1971-2013 aralığındaki yıllık verilerle kırılganbeşli olarak adlandırılan Türkiye, Güney Afrika, Hindistan, Endonezya ve Brezilya için yapılmaktadır. Ampirik sonuçlara göre, ekonomik büyümede yaşanan şoklar enerji tüketimini tüm ülkelerde pozitif fakat azalarak etkilemektedir. Enerji tüketiminde yaşanan değişimlerin önemli bir kısmı Türkiye, Hindistan ve Brezilya için ekonomik büyüme ile açıklanmaktadır. Güney Afrika ve Endonezya’da enerji tüketiminde yaşanan değişimin %80’den fazlası kendisinden kaynaklanmaktadır.
